Today is Thanksgiving in Canada and many people are gathering with family and friends or resting and reflecting.
As a Christian, I’ve learned to be thankful for every season of my life, even during difficult moments. Most of us can probably list off a few things to be thankful for and that in itself, is a blessing. For some, even coming up with things to be thankful for can be a painful process.
It’s ok to acknowledge times when you may not be able to be as thankful. But it’s also fun to think about unusual things to be thankful for. Something you might take for granted could mean the world to someone else.
What’s something unusual that you are thankful for? If you are struggling with this exercise try asking someone under ten-years-old what they are thankful for. Their answers might surprise and delight you. Outside of the normal things, I’m thankful today for the ability to rest and for fall walks in creation with friends.
